Halloween 2014? by Slyrr Halloween 2014? by Slyrr
I'm assembling components for a Ghostbuster costume for halloween this year.  The army surplus store had the requisite boots and flight suit.  Several colors in fact, so I opted for black...  If I can get an actual pack for a good price that would be nice...

Cool suit!

For a pretty quick, and cheap, alternative to the pack, this might give you some ideas: lonelyimmortal.deviantart.com/…

Also, gbfans.com has a LOT of info, to help everyone from the "I just want it to look good" crowd (like me) to the "EVERY screw has to be the right size and placed at the EXACT spot!" crowd.

I got lucky, bought one of the last packs a guy named Norm made and sold, for a decent price.

I take it you have the Matty Neutrono Wand?  I had one, but returned it.  It was really fun, but my barrel kept on glitching up on me, didn't inspire confidence in it's longevity...:/

Yeah, the pack remains elusive. It is indeed a Matty version of the wand - which is probably as good as I'll ever be able to manage/afford.  As long as I don't try using it as a melee weapon, it should hold up. I haven' had any issues with it yet.

There's a US army surplus store near where I live, and a lot of the outfit was to be found there. Genuine flight suits, in many colors (I have since switched to a brown one).  Military boots, belts, and even ALICE pack frames....

There is a couple of nice ones on ebay for sale...depending on what your definition of a "good price" is.

I've seen them - $2500 is not a 'good price' for me. ;)

I'll take my chances and hope to heck that mattycollector/Mattell comes out with one at some point...

Ah, well if you're crafty and have access to bean cans, pvc pipe and pie plates, you can do what this guy did

I haven't got the wherewithal to do stuff like that - I'm a drawer, not really a builder :)

I think that the last time we saw a Halloween photo of you, you were made up like the Joker (Heath Ledger version).

Yeah, it's a bit early, too isn't it? ;)

Ironically, I also have a ghost costume...

Nice network cable running along the floor :)

Also be careful of the matt under you, the ghost might pull it out from under you and spend you flying :)

yeah, the place I'm at now has only ONE network port.  The wireless connection never 'feels' as good, so I either thread a cable across the whole place, or live with a sub-standard connection....
